October 1st, 2016 = Big changes for Oregon’s Cannabis Market

IMPORTANT MESSAGE for our patients, fans and consumers!

October 1st, 2016 marks the day that many changes are happening in Oregon’s Cannabis industry and both the Medical and the Adult Recreational programs will be effected.  While the rules and changes aren’t all that complex in and of themselves, the implementation of these rules requires that we adjust our menu once again, and for this we apologize.

We can tell you that the struggle is real, we are losing many favorite items and flavors once again. These changes are largely out of our control so we will continue to be flexible in our beautiful bakery while we find a way to work within the new regulations.

Don’t worry, elbe’s plans to be here for the long haul. 🙂

Changes coming October 1st:

  • New Medical and Adult Recreational edible potency limits.
  • All packages and labels are required to be pre-approved by the OLCC.
  • All items are to be tested under new, more strict testing protocols.

What this means for OMMP Patients is that access is being restricted. What this means for Adult Recreation Consumers is that access is being expanded.

What this means for elbe’s is that our menu will be shrinking once again. Over the past year, our menu has gone from about 24 items down to 12, and after Oct. 1st our menu will be down to 4 or 5 items. After 10/1, we will continue to make our delicious: Snickerdoodle Cookies, Peanut Butter Balls, Lemon Cakeballs and Triple Chocolate Cakeballs as well as our lotion line.

Our Fudge line (Fudge, Fudge w/Nuts, Peanut Butter Fudge, OMMP Only), on dispensary shelves right now, will only be available at it’s current potency level (220 mg) until dispensaries run out. All OMMP product after Oct.1st is capped at 100mg. If you are looking for this product in its current form and potency, we recommend stocking up now because it is going away due to regulation. (It freezes very well, in case you were curious).

Do you have a favorite cakeball flavor that didn’t make the cut for now?  Get out there and grab some yumm before they disappear. Our expanded cakeball menu will have a slow roll out over the next year, some flavors will be retired and new ones will be on display.  (cakeballs can be frozen too in case you were curious).

The entire elbe’s team really does apologize for these regulation driven changes vs. creative driven changes that we absolutely prefer. We will continue to bring innovative edibles to our fans as allowed and look forward to edible access expanding.  #FREEtheEDIBLE

** For a limited time you can still access our current menu at our partner dispensaries: http://www.elbesedibles.com/dispensaries/ but that time is quickly fading. Oct 1st is right around the corner. **

You can find elbe’s delicious foods items all over the Portland metro area and in Hood River – take a look at our online map to find a store near you!
